Matter Impact Report 2023
We are incredibly proud to present our second Impact Report. This report outlines our aspirations for creating positive change and highlights our progress to date, serving as a continued call to action for policymakers, industries, and communities to collaborate on more effective strategies to mitigate microplastic pollution.

There is no time to waste, the health of the world and life on Earth depends on our contribution and the actions we take now as an organisation.
We follow the principles of Cradle to Cradle in our design thinking and use the framework of B Corp requirements to develop our business practices.
Outlined below is how the five Cradle to Cradle pillars are applied at Matter.

The speed at which microplastics are banned globally.
Material Circularity
Our ability to not add technical nutrients to the biosphere.
Energy Stewardship
Our ability to operate a carbon neutral business.
Water Stewardship
The amount of micropollutants filtered by Matter technology.
Social Fairness
Our ability to certify as a B Corporation and continuously improve.
Tracking
We track and report our sustainability targets, both ecological and social, every month. They form part of our Board and Investor reporting. By tracking and reporting how we are doing on a monthly and annual basis we can drive improvement throughout the business towards our long-term sustainability goals.
Certification
We are motivated by the highest standards of sustainability and circularity and we are working towards Cradle to Cradle certification for our products.
We are B Corp certified.
Net Zero Commitment
We work to reduce our footprint and increase our positive impact in both our operations and our supply chain. We are supplied with 100% green energy that is traceable and renewable. We offset carbon emissions across all our business operations and include our team’s commute to and from Matter. HQ.
We are planning and implementing systems that work towards becoming operationally climate positive by 2030.
