Matter and Paradise Textiles Celebrate Joint Win at the Drapers Awards 2025 for Innovation in Sustainable Fashion

The Matter Team Collecting the Award from Presenter Russell Kane

London [18.11.25] We’re thrilled to share that Matter and Paradise Textiles have jointly won at the Drapers Awards 2025, receiving the Sustainability Tech Innovator of the Year award for our collaborative work to bring Regen.® into textile production.

Our joint project, where we are taking Matter’s Regen.® into Textile Production, was celebrated for its groundbreaking approach to tackling one of fashion’s biggest hidden problems: microfibre pollution.

Regen.® is the world’s first scalable, self-cleaning microfibre filtration system with no disposable parts. By capturing microfibres directly at source during textile production, Regen.® helps manufacturers reduce emissions, cut energy and chemical use, and lower operating costs. This enables the supply chain to drive measurable sustainability impact, where clean production and profitability go hand in hand.

“The energy in the room at the Drapers Awards was incredible, full of brands and innovators pushing boundaries. It was also inspiring to see so many people genuinely interested in making their products more sustainable. The campaigns we saw were fantastic, and it’s an honour to have Matter recognised among them.”
— Scott Voisey, Product Manager at Matter.

A Partnership Driving Real Change

Matter’s collaboration with Paradise Textiles, the science and innovation hub of Alpine Group, has been central to this success. Together, we’re preparing to install the first large-scale Regen.® system at Paradise Textile’s new state-of-the-art facility in Egypt next year, a project that marks a pivotal moment in sustainable textile manufacturing.

I’m immensely proud of the Matter and Paradise Textiles teams for their commitment to solving the microfibre challenge. This recognition highlights what’s possible when technology and industry expertise come together. My hope is that more brands will take a closer look at their supply chains and join us in addressing this critical issue at scale.
— Adam Root, CEO and Founder of Matter.

Looking Ahead

With over 150,000 textile factories worldwide contributing to 20% of global clean water pollution, the potential impact of Regen.® is immense. A single site using Regen.® can capture up to 170 tonnes of microfibres and save 500 tonnes of CO₂ over three years - a tangible step toward cleaner production and healthier ecosystems.

Paradise Textiles and Matter testing Regen.® Technology

For four years, Paradise Textiles and Matter have been developing, refining and testing Regen.® directly inside textile environments to ensure the technology could deliver impact at scale. This award is meaningful because it recognizes the hard work of both teams in turning a visionary idea into an industrially robust system. As we move toward installing the first large-scale Regen.® unit at our new mill in Egypt, we are demonstrating that it is possible to combat microfibre pollution directly at one of the main sources, in a way that strengthens both environmental outcomes and operational performance.
— Lewis Shuler, VP Advanced Concepts, Paradise Textiles / Alpine Group

This award is more than a recognition. It’s a call to action. By combining innovation with collaboration, Matter and Paradise Textiles are setting a new standard for sustainability in fashion manufacturing.
