About us

Our vision: A world free from microfibre.

Matter is a UK-based company on a mission to leave Matter was founded in 2018 by engineer Adam Root, with a £250 Prince’s Trust grant and an idea developed around a family dining room table.

Today, as finalists of the Earthshot Prize, trusted partner to leading global brands, policy advisor, and OEM providers to B/S/H, we are helping to stop microfibre pollution before it reaches our waterways.

Our pioneering Regen® technology is uniquely scalable, intercepting microfibres throughout the textile lifecycle, from manufacturing and supply chains to the final wash in homes around the world. By addressing pollution at every stage, we help organisations and consumers reduce environmental impact and protect the water systems we all depend on.

To leave water and the world better than we found it by intercepting microfibre pollution at the source.

We are the last line of defence between microfibre pollution and the water we leave our children. By pioneering filtration technology, we stop the impact of microfibres from factory to final wash, creating measurable environmental impact where it matters most.

As the last line of defence between microfibre pollution and our waterways, we remain mission-focused in everything we do. By combining innovation, partnership and urgency, we are building solutions that help create cleaner water, stronger environmental stewardship and a future free from microfibre pollution.

Together, we can leave water and the world better than we found it.
